My Pioneer Family Mom spoke often of her Great Grandmother, Jane, crossing the Oregon Trail when she was just 6 years old.  Jane's father, John Franklin Sutherlin, was the captain of the wagon train that began in Indiana and ended in Douglas County, Oregon.
